The Legacy of Vincent van Gogh

The official trailer for the upcoming film “Loving Vincent” has been released and it is incredible!  I am so excited that this film will finally make its debut in the U.S. on September 22nd and with a soundtrack by the incomparable Clint Mansell.

The timing coincides perfectly with my upcoming lecture, “Loving Vincent: The Legacy of Vincent van Gogh,” and I am pleased to announce new opportunities to participate in this stirring and thoughtful event.  In addition to the two lectures hosted by the Winter Garden Art Association at the SoBo Gallery on Saturday, September 16th from 12:00-1:30pm and Thursday, September 28th from 6:30-8:00pm, Vincent will then head to Mount Dora, FL in October.

Partnering once again with Modernism Museum Mount Dora, “Loving Vincent: The Legacy of Vincent van Gogh” will become a “Dine and Learn” hosted by 1921 by Norman Van Aken.  A dinner option will be presented on Tuesday, October 10th from 6:30-8:00pm and a lunch option will be presented on Thursday, October 12th from 12:00-1:30pm.  For more information, please visit www.modernismmuseum.org.

I have spent the last seven years building up The Wandering Art Historian “brand” as a way to connect with people who want to learn more about art. I give lectures and presentations and teach classes and host book club discussions with a creative or artistic connection. I also write about local artists, events, museums, and exhibitions to promote the arts in Central Florida. In 2021, I had a creative crisis. I struggled with authenticity in the art making process. I decided to make myself vulnerable and find out what a real, genuine Adrienne H. Lee artwork would look like. The process was challenging and emotional and revelatory. I learned that if necessity is the mother of invention, then authenticity is the mother of reinvention. I reinvented myself and learned an entirely new medium. The resulting artwork surprised me, and it will surprise you, too. Some people wish for a fairytale ending. For me, the fairy tale is only the beginning.
