Bill Cipher

I promised to showcase some of my recent spooky-themed work this week, but due to acceptance into a show, I’m going to delay those posts.  In the meantime, here’s a new painting in a similar vein.  I was thinking a lot about villains and the idea of monsters or a “big bad” like you see on TV shows.  Bill Cipher is such an unusual villain, especially for an animated show for kids.  I LOVE the show “Gravity Falls” and thought I’d paint Bill Cipher to celebrate this creepy time of year.

I learned that if necessity is the mother of invention, then authenticity is the mother of reinvention. I reinvented myself and learned an entirely new medium. The resulting artwork surprised me, and it will surprise you, too. Some people wish for a fairytale ending. For me, the fairy tale is only the beginning.
