Calling all Disneyphiles and Central Floridians!

If you haven’t yet been to Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts… what are you waiting for??? It has easily and quickly become my favorite festival at the park, even surpassing Food & Wine.  Yes, I am an artist and art historian, so it speaks to the majority of my personal and professional interests.  That being said, it is definitely the most creative festival that aims to include guests in the actual creating process.

To emphasize my point… the classes and workshops offered multiple times each and every day of the festival, the majority of which are FREE.  If you have the opportunity to take a class or workshop – DO IT! I created this Figment-themed flower arrangement in one of their classes and had the BEST time.  It felt so good to create something in three dimensions instead of two as a painter.  The instructors offered the right amount of direction so that you could truly create your own masterpiece.

I decided to make myself vulnerable and find out what a real, genuine Adrienne H. Lee artwork would look like. The process was challenging and emotional and revelatory. I learned that if necessity is the mother of invention, then authenticity is the mother of reinvention. I reinvented myself and learned an entirely new medium. The resulting artwork surprised me, and it will surprise you, too. Some people wish for a fairytale ending. For me, the fairy tale is only the beginning.
