Sea to Sea Flag and Art Exhibit
Orange County Administration Office – 400 E. South St

Section 93 represents a 25-foot section of the world’s largest 1.25-mile original 8-color LGBTQ rainbow flag that was constructed in 2003 in Key West, Florida. The Sea-to-Sea flag stretched from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico and required more than 2,000 people to carry it. It was created by Gilbert Baker, the original artist who created the iconic rainbow flag in 1978. Also known as “The Sacred Cloth,” it is a symbol of the worldwide LGBTQ movement for acceptance, understanding, education, solidarity, and inclusion. The County will also feature a small exhibit on the first floor atrium of the administration building – the banner of the 49 will be hung and Pulse-related artwork will be showcased.

Paint a Lake Eola tribute painting created specially for the evening. The cost is $45/person with $10 from every ticket benefiting a local LGBT organization.

Ringing of the Bells

Join a public gathering for the ringing of 49 bells. Multiple churches around the world have aligned for the ringing of the bells around the world.

Candlelight Vigil for Pulse
Theatre South Playhouse – 7601 Della Drive Suite #15

Light candles, sing songs, and honor the lives lost on June 12, 2016. This is a free event, but donations are welcome and will benefit Theatre South Playhouse’s Acts of Kindness Scholarship Fund & onePULSE Foundation’s Memorial.

Annual Remembrance Ceremony—A Public Community Gathering
Pulse Memorial –1912 S. Orange Avenue
June 12, 2018 | 7-9pm
onePULSE Foundation is hosting a public ceremony to bring together Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs and the community to honor the 49 angels, the survivors and the first responders in a public gathering at the Pulse Memorial.

I am writer and artist with a degree in art history who loves to talk to people about art. I have spent the last seven years building up The Wandering Art Historian “brand” as a way to connect with people who want to learn more about art. I give lectures and presentations and teach classes and host book club discussions with a creative or artistic connection. I also write about local artists, events, museums, and exhibitions to promote the arts in Central Florida. In 2021, I had a creative crisis. I struggled with authenticity in the art making process. I decided to make myself vulnerable and find out what a real, genuine Adrienne H. Lee artwork would look like. The process was challenging and emotional and revelatory. I learned that if necessity is the mother of invention, then authenticity is the mother of reinvention. I reinvented myself and learned an entirely new medium. The resulting artwork surprised me, and it will surprise you, too. Some people wish for a fairytale ending. For me, the fairy tale is only the beginning.
