Yesterday I posted the big reveal of my art wine box for the 3rd Annual Wine Box Art Show taking place tonight. It was a long time before I settled on an idea, but once I decided what my theme was, it was important for me as an artist, to craft as many of the individual pieces as I could. Thankfully, the only things I had to buy outright were the flowers and the battery-powered tea lights.
I posted about making the sugar skull for the ofrenda in a blog post a couple months ago, mostly because I had never made one before and because I couldn’t find a skull to modify at a craft store in the summertime. I was pleased with the result and had some Super Sculpey left over, so I decided to make a few more. They are small, measuring less than 2″ x 2″, but they were a lot of fun to make and to paint. And they definitely get me into the spirit of the season!
