After tackling his iconic sunflowers, you might be wondering how I choose the Van Gogh paintings to study. Well, I have this very handy resource, a Taschen book that includes ALL of Vincent’s paintings. Of course it includes essays and other academic information, but the fact that it also includes all of Vincent’s paintings in full color plates is what makes this book so special. This book has helped me in my research on Vincent’s life and now it is helping me on my artistic adventure. I just flip through it from time to time to see what paintings speak to me.
