With travel restrictions in effect and social distancing the new norm, art institutions around the globe are closing to the disappoint of a multitude of art enthusiasts.  Blockbuster exhibitions years in the making have been cancelled or postponed with no plans to extend show runs or reschedule.

In addition, parents are being thrust into the role of educator due to school closures.  Here in the state of Florida, schools are currently on what would have been Spring Break for a week.  Most school are extending closures for an additional week beyond that.

To keep from going stir-crazy and to help with some unique learning opportunities, I’ve compiled a list of some online resources to satisfy your creative cravings and maybe learn something new.

• Let’s start somewhat locally with The Dali museum in St. Petersburg, FL.  While the museum is closed to the public until March 31st, their online resources are still free to use.  These resources include online-only exhibits and tours of the permanent collection.  Here’s the link…  https://thedali.org/covid-19-coronavirus/
• A collection of 14 museums in Paris, known as the Paris Musees, have made tens of thousands of their works digital and free online.  Their website also includes virtual exhibitions among other resources.  Here’s the link… http://parismuseescollections.paris.fr/en
