The Wandering Art Historian Book Club

At this time of year, I would typically be eyeballs deep in The Art Lovers’ Book Club hosted by the Winter Garden Art Association.  Since this is no normal year and it is not safe enough for us to meet in person, I decided to move forward with The Wandering Art Historian Book Club on Zoom!  Our first discussion was of Tracy Chevalier’s Girl with a Pearl Earring and together we discussed the Golden Age of Dutch Baroque painting and looked at some amazing paintings by Vermeer.

In honor of the first meeting of The Wandering Art Historian Book Club, here’s a brand new #CovidClassics…

“Girl w/ a Pearl Earring,” Johannes Vermeer, 1665

“Girl w/ a Squirrel Earring,” Adrienne H. Lee, 2020

  1. You are such a good art impersonator, Adrienne! You’ve got the vibe & know how. Can your eyebrows be muted on this photo? Your Girl w/Squirrel Earring will be perfect. I’ve always thought original art girl w/pearl earring has face like a mannequin & not a real person. Great collection you started, I look forward to next Adrienne Art Impersonator AAI!
