I am THRILLED to finally share with you this very exciting news! You all know that I have not given an in-person lecture or taught an in-person class since March 2020, but all that is about to change…

That’s right, on Friday, May 27th at 9pm I will hosting an extra special, extra FRINGEY presentation…

DIRTY ART HISTORY!

This FREE presentation benefits Visual Fringe – the visual arts component of the Orlando FRINGE festival. Visual Fringe is offering an unprecedented number of activities this year, some of which include photo ops, artistic improv, a light show, art demonstrations, a mini-film festival and an art market. In addition to all that, the Visual Fringe gallery is BACK! The Visual Fringe gallery showcases Central Florida’s incredibly talented artists (in two and three dimensions!) and offers artwork you can purchase at shockingly affordable prices.

As a long time Orlando FRINGE volunteer and participant, it is truly an honor to support my fellow artists by sharing my unique take on art history. My gratitude to the entire Visual Fringe team who works so diligently all year long to plan unique, fun and exciting events for our community that celebrate creativity, diversity and inclusion.

I am writer and artist with a degree in art history who loves to talk to people about art. I have spent the last seven years building up The Wandering Art Historian “brand” as a way to connect with people who want to learn more about art. I give lectures and presentations and teach classes and host book club discussions with a creative or artistic connection. I also write about local artists, events, museums, and exhibitions to promote the arts in Central Florida. In 2021, I had a creative crisis. I struggled with authenticity in the art making process. I decided to make myself vulnerable and find out what a real, genuine Adrienne H. Lee artwork would look like. The process was challenging and emotional and revelatory. I learned that if necessity is the mother of invention, then authenticity is the mother of reinvention. I reinvented myself and learned an entirely new medium. The resulting artwork surprised me, and it will surprise you, too. Some people wish for a fairytale ending. For me, the fairy tale is only the beginning.
