Fringe Wrap-Up

The 31st Annual Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival has come to a close and big feelings abound. While I am “Fringe Fried” after two weeks of way more fun than any one human should legally be allowed to have, I am also sad that the spell has been broken and that it’s back to the real world until next year.

So many joyful shenanigans happened over the last couple of weeks and while I wasn’t able to document everything, here’s my brief account of FRINGE 2022…

Of course, there was a TON of fabulous artwork on display. The Visual Fringe team announced that 86 pieces of art sold from the Visual Fringe Gallery! Between gallery and art market sales, more $14,000 went back to participating artists. How cool is that?!

Of course, I am immensely grateful to everyone who came out to my very special, very FRINGEY presentation – Dirty Art History. We had an amazing time laughing and learning together and I’m so thankful to everyone on the Visual Fringe team for the opportunity.

I think it’s safe to say that this was the BEST FRINGE EVER!

I decided to make myself vulnerable and find out what a real, genuine Adrienne H. Lee artwork would look like. The process was challenging and emotional and revelatory. I learned that if necessity is the mother of invention, then authenticity is the mother of reinvention. I reinvented myself and learned an entirely new medium. The resulting artwork surprised me, and it will surprise you, too. Some people wish for a fairytale ending. For me, the fairy tale is only the beginning.
