“Twins” by Nicki Forde

If you live in the Central Florida region and are a fan of public art like I am, let me make a recommendation to add to your list of “must see” murals. The next time you find yourself driving north on Highway 27, take a quick detour into downtown Leesburg to view “Twins” by local artist Nicki Forde.

You can find this bold and epic mural on the side of Water Gypsy Coffee Co. located at the corner of 2nd and Main Street.

I love the location of this mural because it allows the viewer to get up close and very personal with a pair of glamorous, grinning gators. They’re so happy to see you!

  2. Below is my comment in case it did not go thru to you for approval.  It would be nice if we got notice after submitting post “comment sent for approval”, but up to wordpress I guess! Adrienne, thx for tour of Leesburg bronze statues at library which are stunning at front entrance & back garden area.  I’m happy to know Nicki Forde artist info from you after seeing Twins mural.  Venetian Gardens is lovely area to drive or walk around where Bass Tournamts held!! Your Central FL wanderings leave no art hidden these days!

I learned that if necessity is the mother of invention, then authenticity is the mother of reinvention. I reinvented myself and learned an entirely new medium. The resulting artwork surprised me, and it will surprise you, too. Some people wish for a fairytale ending. For me, the fairy tale is only the beginning.
