The Road Less Traveled at the LCFA

The Leesburg Center for the Arts in Leesburg, FL recently held the opening reception for their current members’ exhibition, The Road Less Traveled. This theme was left completely to the artists’ interpretation and the results were striking and diverse. The works on display were definitely the visual representations of folks on a journey and honestly, what creative individual isn’t on some sort of sojourn?

I was pleased to see quite a few three-dimensional pieces in various mediums like clay, wood and fused glass. There were also a couple of assemblages and this was a wonderfully unexpected surprise!

I was intrigued by the number of abstracts on view (my own included), but was absolutely thrilled by the quantity and the quality of fiber arts pieces showcasing an assortment of techniques including cross stitch!

I am grateful to have artwork included in this show and if you find yourself in the neighborhood, I highly recommend checking out this exhibition.

  1. Leesburg Art exhibition is remarkable creativity and talent.  I’ll get there on way back from Eady talk at Appleton Art Museum Saturday August  5.  Thx for info.

I learned that if necessity is the mother of invention, then authenticity is the mother of reinvention. I reinvented myself and learned an entirely new medium. The resulting artwork surprised me, and it will surprise you, too. Some people wish for a fairytale ending. For me, the fairy tale is only the beginning.
