I have a TON of surprises to share with all of you in this new year and one of them is this…

I hope you’ll join me for this unique and exciting 4-part lectures series presented by the Leesburg Center for the Arts beginning in January. Here’s how it works…

We’ll focus on a different art topic each week and compare and contrast two artists and their approaches to that week’s topic.

Session 1 on Wednesday, January 24 from 11:00am – 12:30pm
Topic: Words & Language
Artists: Jenny Holzer & Barbara Kruger

Session 2 on Wednesday, January 31 from 11:00am – 12:30pm
Topic: Land Art & Earthworks
Artists: Christo & Jeanne-Claude & Ana Mendieta

Session 3 on Wednesday, February 7 from 11:00am – 12:30pm
Topic: Sculpture & Installation
Artists: Judy Chicago & Louise Bourgeois

Session 4 on Wednesday, February 14 from 11:00am – 12:30pm
Topic: Public Art
Artists: Kara Walker & Kehinde Wiley

There is a registration fee for each session with a $5 discount for members of the Leesburg Center for the Arts:
$25 for nonmembers
$20 for LCFA members

  2. Public Art Central Florida abounds 21st Century, therefore, timely Adrienne lecture series in Leesburg. If Adrienne videos each lecture, she can post videos in March for viewers to access online!! hint hint Happy Healthy 2024 wishes to wanderers!

I am writer and artist with a degree in art history who loves to talk to people about art. I have spent the last seven years building up The Wandering Art Historian “brand” as a way to connect with people who want to learn more about art. I give lectures and presentations and teach classes and host book club discussions with a creative or artistic connection. I also write about local artists, events, museums, and exhibitions to promote the arts in Central Florida. In 2021, I had a creative crisis. I struggled with authenticity in the art making process. I decided to make myself vulnerable and find out what a real, genuine Adrienne H. Lee artwork would look like. The process was challenging and emotional and revelatory. I learned that if necessity is the mother of invention, then authenticity is the mother of reinvention. I reinvented myself and learned an entirely new medium. The resulting artwork surprised me, and it will surprise you, too. Some people wish for a fairytale ending. For me, the fairy tale is only the beginning.
