I know a lot of you folks out there listen to podcasts and while I don’t currently have one of my own, I was recently interviewed by Frankie Messina for his You Hit the Spot segment. For the very few of you who might not know Frankie, he’s probably one of the most active arts advocates I know in the Central Florida area. He champions everything from local music to local artists to local writers and beyond. His heart is truly for the arts. And one of the coolest things about Frankie is that you never know where he’ll pop up next. One day you might see him walking the campus of Rollins College on his way to host his radio show on WPRK and the next you’ll see him hosting emerging artists at an non-traditional art venue that he personally curated.
The guy is literally everywhere, like an arts-driven superhero whose kryptonite is complacency.
I’m so honored that he wanted to chat with me for his You Hit the Spot segment and honestly, we had the best conversation! We talked about a bunch of arty and creative topics in a short amount of time and got quite existential amid all the laughter and fun. We also talked about what inspired me to write my debut novel, The Autobiography of an Infinite Being or How I Turned into a Bird on My 80th Birthday, so if you’re curious, you’ll want to check it out.
My utmost thanks to Frankie for thinking of me and for wanting to chat. Be sure to keep an ear out for more conversations because I think we both have a lot more to say.
