Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts

If you live in the Central Florida area, I highly recommend swinging by Epcot to experience the International Festival of the Arts.  Ongoing now through February 19th, this festival offers a variety of activities for the entire family.  If you are a Disneyphile who also happens to love art, this is the perfect event for you!

In its second year, the festival has expanded to include new activities, more artists and workshops and seminars every day of the week.  Plus, Broadway stars perform Disney songs in concert at the American Adventure throughout the day.  There are also more food and drink options, a Figment-themed scavenger hunt and an art walk.

I have attended the festival twice so far and will go again next week when I participate in one of their creative workshops.  This is a major highlight of the entire festival – the opportunity to learn something from a Disney animator, Imagineer or a creative professional from the Central Florida community.  I will be sharing my experience at said workshop in a future blog post, so be on the look out!

I learned that if necessity is the mother of invention, then authenticity is the mother of reinvention. I reinvented myself and learned an entirely new medium. The resulting artwork surprised me, and it will surprise you, too. Some people wish for a fairytale ending. For me, the fairy tale is only the beginning.
