Over the weekend, I visited the recently opened “Towards Impressionism: Landscape Painting from Corot to Monet” exhibition at the Cornell Fine Arts Museum on the campus of Rollins College. It is an excellent opportunity to experience some really wonderful pieces by “big name” artists like Renoir, Pissarro and Monet (this post’s featured image). It also sheds some light on this really interesting and magical time in art in which artists are starting to flirt with the ideals that eventually become Impressionism. I highly recommend it.
The exhibition is free to the public and is on view through April 8th. Stay tuned for a very special announcement regarding The Wandering Art Historian and this exhibition coming soon!
