Puppy Love

If you have been following this blog for a while or even if you only check in from time to time, you may have seen references to my pup, Chipper the Regal Beagle.  Chip is such a special pup and has been the inspiration for some of my artwork.

Chip’s “Gotcha Day” (adoption day) is Galentine’s Day (2/13) and this year we’ll be celebrating two amazing years with our girl.  Plus, the Lunar New Year welcomes in the Year of the Dog on 2/16.  Pups are such important members of so many families, including ours.  I wanted to create something to celebrate that special bond, so please enjoy the “Puppy Love” set.

While Chipper is the inspiration for these paintings, I feel as though they celebrate every pup who is loved by their family.  You might notice that the painting in the center depicts a pup with a wrinkly ear.  That is because Chip’s right ear is a little wonky. The rescue does not know what happened to it. Our vet suggested that it was caused by either infection or trauma. Hearing that made me cry in the vet’s office. Our pups often come to us perfectly imperfect and then they become the reminder that we humans are perfectly imperfect, too.

If you are interested in adding a furry member to your family, please consider adopting through the Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue.  For more information, please visit… http://www.tampabaybeaglerescue.org/
