I am honored to have been asked to contribute to the 3rd Annual Wine Box Art Show benefiting the Zebra Coalition of Orlando, FL. If you recall, one of last summer’s art projects was to paint a wine box – with any theme chosen by the artist – to be auctioned off at a fundraiser hosted by The Barefoot Spa and Quantum Leap Winery. I was thrilled with how last year’s wine box (inspired by the film “My Neighbor Totoro”) turned out and felt a sigh of relief when it was purchased the night of the event.
This poses an interesting scenario for this year’s event. I feel compelled to “top” myself as an artist – new theme, bigger wine box, more challenging concept, etc. Does anyone else, especially in a creative field, ever feel this way? It is like I am in competition with myself!
Wish me luck as the deadline for completion quickly approaches and I cope with my weird competitive nature.
P.S. The image attached to this post is a clue to this year’s wine box theme!
