When you are an artist you sometimes find yourself needing unconventional media or supplies during unusual times… like needing a skull in the middle of summer. I just completed an epic art project that I am very proud of and will be sharing with all of you soon. However, to complete this project I needed a small skull and I needed it quick.
Craft stores are notorious for offering themed art supplies and décor far, far in advance of a season or holiday. My closest Michael’s store did have some autumn supplies and décor on display (yes, in July), but no skulls. I could have ordered a small skull, but I did not want to wait even two days for it to ship. Deadlines for art projects are no joke!
Thankfully, I remembered I had a block of Super Sculpey sculpting clay hidden away and I set to work. I am so glad I took a risk and made the skull myself because I love the final product. In fact, I am wondering if I shouldn’t make more!
