A Closer Look at Famous Sculptures

My most recent YouTube series explores the world of art in three dimensions.

Every Thursday in March, I shared a new video discussing a famous sculpture to The Wandering Art Historian YouTube channel. I specifically chose sculptures that would challenge perspectives and, hopefully, generate dialogue.

All five videos are now LIVE on my YouTube channel for you to peruse at your leisure! For even easier access, I am including the links to all the videos in this post.

Enjoy and don’t forget to share your thoughts and observations!

“The Death Of Cleopatra”

“Bicycle Wheel”

“Corner Counter-Relief”

“Maman”

“Monogram”

  1. Email of videos easy way to review ones seen or to watch first time. Maman is a sculpture to rival huge sculptures in Chicago of Cloud Gate which people call the Bean in Millennium Park & Picasso’s untitled sculpture at Daley Center. When I saw Manman spider I thought of Charlotte’s Web (thanks to E. B. White’s story)!

  2. Skateboard Art now I get what Monogram is about breaking 4th wall with motion! Thx for telling me the Monogram piece has casters/wheels! It truly became the logo aka monogram for Rauschenberg!
