I’m embarrassed to admit that it took me entirely too long to visit Studio ArtFarm in Mount Dora, FL. If you’re one of the very few who don’t know about this creative wonderland, Studio ArtFarm is what happens when two powerhouses – PJ Svejda and German Lemus – of the Central Florida art scene get together to do some good and make some art. Both an art gallery and creative instructional center, Studio ArtFarm showcases the work of local artists, hosts exhibitions and offers an assortment of art classes for adults and children.

Located in the Fuller Building in the heart of historic downtown Mount Dora, Studio ArtFarm welcomes its visitors with an explosion of color as dozens of paintings in a variety styles and mediums cover the walls from floor to ceiling.

Artists represented by Studio ArtFarm are often on-hand and working live and I was grateful to meet Jawan Townsend (@afrotheartgod) during my visit. He showed me a few of his recent works and shared that he’s teaching a kids’ anime drawing and painting class in the coming weeks.
Here’s a link to Jawan’s class…

Be sure not to skip the room dedicated to the bold abstracts of artist Gina Tyquiengco.

You may recall her feature in the July 2022 issue of Lake & Sumter Style Magazine, but if you missed it, here’s the link…
Honestly, to see so much unbridled talent housed in a relatively small space was extremely overwhelming but wildly encouraging and utterly joyful. Whether you’re an artist or an enthusiast, the work created in and for this setting is made to inspire and uplift. A creative space like this is something that Mount Dora, and the Central Florida area at large, has needed for a long time. It’s an asset to the community, as are the artists who work so diligently to give back through classes, instruction and mentorship.

Adrienne shows her readers art exhibits from talented artists all over Central Florida with dates and places to view art!
