Summer Bookish Adventures!

The summer months are often associated with relaxing vacation travel and expeditions to far-off locales. Personally, I’ve been on a pretty active bookish adventure this summer right here in Central Florida. It is a lot of work preparing for and marketing author events, but they are also A LOT of fun!

The first event on my docket was the Summer Local Author Series at Writer’s Block Bookstore in Winter Park, FL on Saturday, July 20th.

I spoke with a bunch of readers at this event! Chatting with folks about what they’re reading and their favorite genres is truly one of the best parts of doing these events. I was also fortunate enough to meet two fellow authors who were absolutely delightful.

WELCOME

My next event was the Boozy Book Fair at White Rose Books & More in Kissimmee, FL on Thursday, July 25th.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… Tania and Erin know how to throw a party! The owners of White Rose Books & More are SO good at connecting with local businesses, artists and authors to create a sense of fun and community. I really enjoyed the relaxed, party-like atmosphere.

Look at those adorable BEES… made me think of the bee in my book!

There was even LIVE music provided by The Blue Theory Jazz Trio! The vibe at this party was EXCELLENT!

My last stop of the summer was Spellbound Bookstore in Sanford, FL on Saturday, August 10th.

Booksellers Bree and Brooke and shop owner Sarai all made me feel welcome at their enchanting bookstore.

I decided to make myself vulnerable and find out what a real, genuine Adrienne H. Lee artwork would look like. The process was challenging and emotional and revelatory. I learned that if necessity is the mother of invention, then authenticity is the mother of reinvention. I reinvented myself and learned an entirely new medium. The resulting artwork surprised me, and it will surprise you, too. Some people wish for a fairytale ending. For me, the fairy tale is only the beginning.
