Books, Coffee & Art in Bartow, FL

I recently visited Bartow, FL to participate in a book signing at Inklings Book Shoppe – Bartow and had the most wonderful experience! This welcoming small town is BIG on books, coffee and art, making me feel right at home. If you enjoy road trips to unique and quirky towns in the Sunshine State, here are a few things to look for when planning your next adventure.

First things first… coffee! Unfiltered Coffee House offers tasty caffeinated beverages and a variety of snacks and meals in an artsy setting with chill vibes. Hang out and read, chat with friends, or work on your cross-stitch – all are welcome at Unfiltered!

Because everyone knows that nothing goes better together than coffee and books, be sure to head upstairs to enjoy Inklings Book Shoppe – Bartow.

Inklings Book Shoppe – Bartow sells both used and new books and is the sister location of Inklings Book Shoppe in Lakeland, FL. I am so grateful for the opportunity to do book signings at amazing indie bookstores in the Sunshine State and Inklings Book Shoppe – Bartow is one of the best!

I have spent the last seven years building up The Wandering Art Historian “brand” as a way to connect with people who want to learn more about art. I also write about local artists, events, museums, and exhibitions to promote the arts in Central Florida. In 2021, I had a creative crisis. I struggled with authenticity in the art making process. I decided to make myself vulnerable and find out what a real, genuine Adrienne H. Lee artwork would look like. The process was challenging and emotional and revelatory. I learned that if necessity is the mother of invention, then authenticity is the mother of reinvention. I reinvented myself and learned an entirely new medium. The resulting artwork surprised me, and it will surprise you, too. Some people wish for a fairytale ending. For me, the fairy tale is only the beginning.
